Global Excellence Group (GEG) offers a wide range of Consulting; Feasibility Studies; Environmental Aspects; Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Commissioning (EPIC); Project Management Consulting (PMC) and Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) services to the clients in the sectors of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land Reclamation, Irrigation & Drainage and Agri-food. These services include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Agriculture
    • Sustainable agriculture as an integrated system of plant and animal production practices having a site-specific application that will last over the long term to provide the following benefits:
      1. Satisfy human food and fiber needs
      2. Enhance environmental quality and the natural resource base upon which the agricultural economy depends
      3. Make the most efficient use of non-renewable resources and on-farm resources and integrate natural biological cycles and controls
      4. Sustain the economic viability of farm operations
    • Planting and harvesting the major agricultural products broadly grouped into foods (cereals, legumes, fruits and vegetables), fibers (cotton, wool, hemp, silk and flax), fuels (biofuels include methane from biomass, ethanol and biodiesel) and raw materials (lumber, bamboo and resins)
    • Preparing proper plans for crop rotation; as up to 25% yield increase may be obtained; in a crop grown in rotation. Upon planning we carefully consider that the choice & sequence of rotation crops depends on the nature of the soil, the climate, and precipitation which together determine the type of plants that may be cultivated. Other important aspects of farming such as crop marketing & economic variables shall also be considered when deciding crop rotations
    • Fertilization and control of soil fertility, weed, pathogens, insect and pest
    • Improvement of soil structure, fertility and quality
    • Raising livestock and/or animal husbandry of cattle, sheep, goats, camels, poultry, rabbits, and apiculture and fish farms
  • Rural Development
    • Model farms using the new & renewable energy (solar/wind energy-driven equipment, electrification of houses, solar water heaters, etc)
    • Preparing integrated programs to:
      1. Increase horticultural & non-traditional agricultural products and farm revenues of producers
      2. Improve domestic markets of crops and animal products
      3. Promote and expand exports of higher value-added non-traditional agricultural products
      4. Enhance the quality of life for farmers and society as a whole
    • Offering awareness and training programs
    • Proper planning & implementation of potable water, sanitary drainage and waste management projects
  • Land Reclamation
    • Identification of soil type (silty, sandy, clay, loam, peat, lime, rocky) and recommending proper type of remedy to be arable, suitable crop and irrigation system
    • Amelioration, sustainable ways to make soil more productive and profitable
    • Classification and conservation of soils and reproducing them to determine whether they contain substances vital to plant growth such as compounds of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium
    • Developing methods to preserve the soil and to decrease the effects of erosion by wind and water
    • Hydrological improvement (Land levelling, drainage, irrigation, leaching of saline soils, landslide and flood control)
    • Soil improvement (fertilization, establishment of proper chemical balance)
    • Soil stabilization/erosion control and conservation of rainfall
    • Developing ways to use the soil more effectively in solving problems like the disposal of human and animal wastes, water pollution and the build-up in the soil of pesticides
    • Soil remediation (combating desertificationanddecontamination of polluted land)
    • Afforestation, as a means for both water conservation and land protection against wind erosion (shelterbelt or windbreak)
  • Irrigation & Drainage
    • Planning, designing and constructing of efficient irrigation systems featuring low capital cost, growing the maximum amount of quality crop, efficient water application, low energy cost, low labour, easy to operate, reliable with low maintenance and environmentally friendly
    • Surface irrigation (flood irrigation) system with its three major types; level basin, furrow and border strip
    • Localized irrigation system (drip or trickle, spray or micro-sprinkler and bubbler) and fertigation
    • Sprinkler irrigation system (centre pivot, lateral move (side roll & wheel line))
    • Concrete ditch & siphon pipe systems, water wells and humid air condensation on stones
    • Surface drainage systems; regular (bedded or graded) and checked (controlled)
    • Subsurface drainage systems; regular or checked and either horizontal or vertical
    • Main drainage systems (consisting of deep or shallow collector drains and deep main drains or disposal drains)
    • Main drainage outlet (either gravity outlet structures or pumping stations)
  • Agri-food
    • Fruits and vegetables processing
    • Grain storage and processing
    • Meat, dairy and poultry processing
    • Beverages including juices, soft drinks and potable & aerated water
    • Plants of cleaning, grading, sorting & handling of all kinds
of seeds, grains, pulses, spices, oil seeds, fruits and vegetables
    • Animal nutrition (stock feed and animal feed)
